In an effort to bring in a variety of
training opportunities, ATOM takes
recommendations from you, the law
enforcement trainer, on quality instructors
from around the country. This organization
was one of those recommendations.
This course is recommended for advanced
shooters, instructors and SWAT personnel.
It combines carbine & pistol transitioning
and integration, along with manipulation,
zeroing, how to clear malfunctions, optics
and use of various sighting systems,
ballistics, varied position shooting,
multiple targets, hostage resolution, night
evolutions and, problem-solving, vehicle
engagement.
As a 26-year veteran of the L.A.P.D., Scott
Reitz has spent 22 years in the elite
Metropolitan Division, with 10 years as an
operator and instructor in S.W.A.T. For the
last several years, he has been the primary
firearms instructor for the Metropolitan
Division and responsible for all in-service
training for the department. During his
career as a field officer with the
Metropolitan Division, Scott was involved in
5 officer-involved shootings, all in policy
with successful outcomes.
His qualifications distinguish him from all
other law enforcement trainers and give him
a unique perspective on the use of deadly
force. This “real life” experience has
contributed to his capabilities as a
firearms instructor and his ongoing
involvement as an expert in the use of
deadly force make him imminently qualified
to train law enforcement officers as well as
civilians. If you asked the most respected
instructors in the firearms industry to list
the people they would train with, Scott’s
name would be at the top of the list.
