5 Day Advanced Reality Based Training

This class will be held the week of June
14-18 at the Scott County Law Enforcement
Training Center. Cost is $725/person.
Note: there are affordable sleeping
accommodations at the location.
The 5 Day Reality Based Training instructor
School is an advanced level instructor
development school based on the concepts
taught in the book "Training at the Speed of
Life - The Definitive Textbook for Police
and military Reality Based Training" written
by SIMUNITION co-founder ken Murray.
It is a classroom intensive program that
covers advanced scenario training principles
as well as adult learning principles in a
comprehensive fashion. Also covered
are the psychological factors present in
officers during high level threat
encounters.
These psychological factors affect an
officer's responses on many levels, although
officers are rarely aware of the presence of
these factors. Class participants are
coached extensively on how to thoroughly
remediate officer errors in light of these
psychological factors so that officers will
be able to integrate the lessons learned in
simulated settings into their survival
psychology, thereby increasing their
likelihood to swiftly and effectively
prevail in both low and high risk
encounters.
Participants will learn to safely and
effectively utilize simulation products
manufactured by: SIMUNITION7,
PDT-Tech/ATK; UTM; AirMunition7:
Airsoft; code Eagle; conventional paint
ball; Other training ammunition companies.
Also covered is the use of:
Protective equipment and
confrontational impact gear including High
Gear7,
RedMan7,
FIST7
etc.
Insert chemical agents, training batons,
training radios
Laser simulators including
IES, FATS, BeamHit, MILES equipment
Inert weapons and blank
firing devices
Kenneth Murray is the Director of Training
for the Armiger Police Training Institute.
He is co-founder of SIMUNITION® and author
or the original SIMUNITION® training
program. He has been a law enforcement
training since 1985, specializing in the
development of Reality Based Training
concepts. He is author of the professionally
acclaimed book Training at the Speed of Life
– The Definitive Textbook for Police and
Military Reality Based Training. He is the
advisory boards of several organizations on
the topic of Reality Based Training
including Police Marksman, Police One, Force
Science Research Center and Police Policy
Studies Council. He is a regular contributor
on the topic or Reality Based Training for
