Each year many cops and their families are devastated by the subtle day-to-day pressures associated with their careers. Stress causes attitude and behavior changes, impairs family and social relationships, creates a cynical attitude and destroys careers. Experts agree that stress-related disease and injury claims, lawsuits, and related rising insurance costs will accelerate dramatically in the years ahead. Clearly, this is not just a matter of stress management, it is a matter of personal and organizational survival.

Kevin Gilmartin can help you assess your own level of vulnerability and understand the conflict between job expectations and organizational realities. Together with this knowledge, you will learn proactive and reactive techniques to develop and maintain a balance, critical for professional and personal well being.

This one day course is recommended and will benefit all law enforcement personnel; officers, supervisors and administrators. Spouses are also encouraged to attend. Topics covered will include, but are not limited to the following:

* Stress Management * Traumatic Stress

* Emotional Distress * Law Enforcement Culture and their Family

* Organizational Burnout * Surviving Organizational Change

* Crisis Intervention Strategies
